Join Sony Artisan of Imagery Jason Lanier for his presentation at WPPI 2015 for the 5 most important reasons why he switched to Sony Mirrorless from Nikon DSLR.
In March of 2015 I had the opportunity to make a presentation for the first time for Sony as an Artisan of Imagery. They allowed me the big stage of WPPI at the MGM Grand Convention Center which was AWESOME!
This video also includes footage of me opening up my bag and sharing what I use with one of my followers right after my presentation. I also review the gear that I use for off camera flash, high speed sync and more with my Sony cameras…
So without further ado…here are the 5 Reasons I switched:
- Live View- this is the live view we’ve been waiting for. No lag, immediate playback of your images. Getting the image right in the camera BEFORE you take the shot!
- Size and Weight– having a smaller camera that doesn’t drag you down unleashes your creativity. Think about your health, think about how these cameras will affect you long term…innovation always gives us smaller, easier products for less of a price. Mirrorless cameras are the future.
- Tilt Screen- EVERY camera should have a tilt screen. Our necks don’t stretch out in crazy configurations so it doesn’t make sense that our cameras require us to bend over backwards to get a shot. Watch the video and you’ll see why I love them so much.
- Upload via Wifi- our society is all about instant gratification. If we don’t upload our images online, guests/friends will. The absolute best way to market yourself is by uploading great content quickly…and the Sony cameras make that possible for you to do. You can send it straight from your camera to your smartphone, and BOOM, it’s uploaded online. It’s AWESOME!
- Technological Innovations– there are so many with Sony that it’s hard to name just a few. But with Focus Peaking, Focus Magnification, Electronic Viewfinder, Image Stabilization, Live View Remote etc….it’s just ridiculous that people aren’t shooting Sony….
So I hope this has helped guys and gals. I truly love these cameras because they make me be the best photographer I can be. People who tell you that gear doesn’t matter are fools. It absolutely does. Does great gear make a bad photographer great? Absolutely not. Does bad gear make a great photographer bad? Well…kinda. Great gear makes a great photographer become…LETHAL.
Are you ready to make the Sony Switch?
